Concert classical guitar 2013. By Robert Cross.
This is a world class concert guitar owned by professional recitalist Jonathan Richards. The instrument was made for Mr. Richards in 2013 & has been his concert instrument of choice for the last five years. Mr Richards’ reason for sale is that he is replacing the guitar with another by the same maker.
The soundboard is of superb quality European spruce – seasoned 30 years by the maker. The back & sides of the guitar are of a dark chocolate brown African hardwood Wenge. The fingerboard is ebony. There is an intricate mosaic soundhole rosette handmade by the maker. The instrument has tasteful hand carving to the rosewood face of the headstock and has high quality Gotoh tuning machines fitted.
The Instrument is extremely playable and has many peak years remaining – It exhibits a singing, powerful, clear projecting tone that would reward the finest player.
The guitar is in overall very good condition, but it has been extensively used in concert as both a solo instrument and with orchestra & therefore displays a few minor scuff marks to the soundboard.
The guitar is offered for sale at £1400. ono. Which can be regarded as an absolute bargain for an instrument of this quality & condition. The guitar comes with a Hiscox Liteflight Pro II Hardcase.
